
Christina
Leong Shau Ling
Ms
Leong obtained her Masters in Business Administration in Finance from
the Columbia University Graduate School of Business in 1986.
From
1986 to 1989, Ms Leong administered loan portfolios at the Royal Bank
of Canada. As a Corporate Account Officer, her main duties were to
perform annual credit renewal and financial analysis of historical
and projected results as well as to assist in the evaluation of potential
businesses.
In
1989, Ms Leong joined Indocam Asset Management Asia (previously known
as Indosuez Asia Investment Services Ltd) as an Investment Analyst
specializing in the investment analysis of companies in Hong Kong,
Malaysia and Singapore. In 1990, she was promoted to Investment Manager
responsible for equity investments in Singapore and Malaysia with
exposure to all regional markets. She also actively managed the accounts
of private clients and two of Indosuez's funds; Indosuez Singapore
& Malaysia Trust and Gartmore Indosuez Asia Pacific Fund.
In
1994, she became the Senior Investment Manager responsible for the
Groupe Indosuez Asia Pacific Fund which, at its height, had assets
of approximately US$90 million. The fund achieved a 135% return over
a 5-year period from 1992 to early 1997, beating the benchmark by
24% over the same period.
With
her vast experience in fund management, Ms Leong left Indosuez Asia
Investment Services Ltd in 1997, to contribute her considerable investment
expertise to Heritage Capital Management Pte Ltd.
